In the April 2006 issue of Textile Journal magazine JB Martin’s VelProof® was featured as an “amazing new product” at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market Show.

“Designed and developed by the JB Martin Company, VelProof, a new double-faced, water repellent, flame resistant and thermal-regulated woven fabric, was proudly on display. It would seem that the product provides a unique combination of protection, performance and comfort in stretch or rigid compositions, for a multitude of consumer and industrial uses.”

The Outdoor Retailer show, the leading outdoor industry business-to-business trade event, took place on January 27, 2006, at Salt Lake City, Utah. The show brought together top manufacturers, retailers, industry advocates and media to conduct the business of the recreational outdoors.

On May 21, 2006, JB Martin velvet was seen on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The JB Martin Company donated velvet to help decorate a beautiful home built for a deserving family. The velvet was used for a sofa, duvet cover and wall coverings. JB Martin was proud to participate in this award winning show.

Each episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is self-contained and features a race against time on a project that would ordinarily take at least four months to achieve, involving a team of designers, contractors and several hundred workers who have just seven days to totally rebuild an entire house—every single room, plus the exterior and landscaping. The lives of the lucky families are forever changed when they learn that they have been selected to have their home walls moved, their floors replaced and even their façades radically changed. The result should be a decorator's delight… if it can be done in time.
