JB Martin Company is a producer of high-end velvets.
JB Martin Company claims its origins in the Textile city of
Lyon,
France from where it had been exporting its high end
velvets to world markets since the early part of the nineteenth
century. Sample collections of these velvet lines have been
donated to the Design Lab of the Fashion Institute of
Technology on 27th Street in Manhattan, where they are
displayed in a specially designed JB Martin velvet room.

JB Martin Company began its North American activity in
Norwich,Connecticut in 1893, and relocated it in South Carolina
in the late 1950’s. JB Martin Company, with affiliate production
facilities in Mexico since 1948 and Canada since 1936, is still a
family-run business, with headquarters and showrooms in
New York City.
JB Martin Company specializes in woven velvets for the
high-end apparel trade, the high-end home furnishings trade,
as well as for assorted high-spec industrial applications.
